Federation University provides each student with an email account. You can use this account to communicate with your lecturers and other students, or outside the university. Treat it as you would a work account, meaning any content you send or receive should be appropriate to the university context.
Your email address will generally look like this:
Students: Studentname@students.federation.edu.au
Staff: A.staffname@federation.edu.au
Outlook is the software application we use to manage email.
Follow these steps to access your email. You may also choose to forward emails from the University to your personal email address.
Official email
Email communication between yourself and the University staff is official business. You may choose to set up an email signature as you would in a work email system. In it, include your student ID to assist with context.
Email traffic will also come from activities in your Moodle courses. You can manage the number of emails Moodle sends you through your preferences. Monitoring your University email account will help ensure you do not miss important updates to your course.
